Hayley Patton grew up in North Wales and studied mathematics at Lancaster University. She wrote her first novel, Beyond the Longcase Clock, while living in Edinburgh.

When she’s not writing, Hayley can be found exploring castles, walking in the mountains or planning her next adventure. Her passion for travel seeps into her writing, and she often sends her characters to interesting locations just so she can research them.

She often daydreams about what places used to look like hundreds and thousands of years ago. Unfortunately for her, she hasn’t figured out how to time-travel. But maybe that’s a good thing.
